In Spring 2000, the Pacific Bell/UCLA Initiative created a 21st Century Literacies Bibliography that includes close to 4000 citations stored in three ProCite databases: 1) Information Literacy; 2) Media Literacy; and 3) Other Literacies such as visual and cultural.

The 21st Century Literacies Bibliography supported several subsequent Initiative projects. For example, appropriate resources were extracted to support the Teacher Education Project, the Public Libraries Train the Trainer project, and the SBC 21st Century Literacies web site. The 21st Century Literacies Bibliography is available for loan on CD ROM by special request. The citations were culled from several different databases and content providers. As such, there is a lack of consistency in formats and descriptors that introduces certain search limitations. Furthermore, with the proliferation of research and materials in this area, the 21st Century Literacies Bibliography is now dated. However, it still represents a rich repository for research and practice.
